The Capuchin Franciscan Friars of Ireland are a branch of the First Order of Friars Minor, founded in Italy by St. Francis of Assisi in 1209.
We came to Ireland in the 17th century and have worked for and with the Irish people ever since.
Who We Are:
"The Lord gave me some brothers." This is the simple way in which St. Francis chose to describe the beginning of his Order. The men who followed his way of life were not to be 'followers' nor 'disciples', but brothers.

VOCATIONS WEEKEND We are having at vocations weekend on the 26th to the 28th of September at the Capuchin Friary, Raheny, Dublin 5. If you want to take an oppertunity of discerning what God is calling you to, if you want to learn more about our way of life you are welcome. Franciscan Leadership Conference (Ireland) |

Saint Francis of Assisi wanted his followers to show that they are
members of one family. The Franciscan Leadership Conference (FLC) is
the gathering of the leaders (or their named delegates) of all the
followers of Francis and Clare of Assisi in Ireland.
The aims of the FLC are:
- To help strengthen the bonds of family between Franciscan institutes
- To increase knowledge and appreciation of a shared charism as well as the particular gifts of each institute
- To provide a framework of support and affirmation to those who exercise the ministry of leadership
The
Conference meets twice yearly. Through the Central Committee it
organises lectures, seminars, retreat days, longer retreats and other
events as the need arises.
